Eleven ways Google can help your business

Google_prods Google offers a lot of great services.  There's a very good chance that you use at least one of them.

However, many of the small business owners I speak to don't leverage Google's great tools in the best way they might.  They buy Microsoft Office, when Google Docs would save them a bundle.  They buy Google Adwords but don't use Analytics to properly assess how they're ads are performing.

So I've decided to put together a list of great ways that Google are helping small business owners.  Hopefully you'll find some valuable nuggets in here to save money, increase productivity or even just have a play with something new...

  1. The most targeted online advertising available - Adwords.
  2. The most comprehensive website analytics tool - Analytics.
  3. Free online, collaborative word processor, spreadsheet and presentation generator - Documents.
  4. Online news tracking service. Find your business when it's in the news - Alerts.
  5. Put your business profile on the map - Google Maps.
  6. Free chat widget, so your website visitors can contact you - Chatback.
  7. Start a free discussion forum for your product or service - Groups.
  8. Offer your website visitors a great search facility on your website with Site Search.
  9. Perform useful market research on keyword search popularity with Trends.
  10. Create your own free website with Page Creator.
  11. Write a business blog with Blogger.

There are many more, but if you want to keep up to date with what Google are up to, why not check out their product directory or their labs or subscribe to the excellent and unofficial Google blog.

Thanks for the great information. The post is useful practically. However, I prefer www.statcounter.com instead of google analytics for web stats and real statistics and visitor behaviour. I admit that Google is the largest search engine and majority of people use it for seraching products and services. Also Google offers wide variety of services.
